The largest snook and tarpon tend to coincide with the mullet. They run in late summer and early fall, August, September and October, as well as late spring , April, May, and June.
Both live and dead bait work well to snare these big fellows. One of the most important aspects of fish in and around the inlets is to fish during the correct tide and at the correct time of day. Generally early morning and early evening is the best time of day.
Tarpon is one of the most popular types of fish to mount as it is usually larger in size and will make an attractive display in both home and office settings.
